- Training in editing from Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU)
- Training in plain language principles from Simon Fraser University
- Training in copywriting from Blackford Centre
- Award-winning editor: Charles Oberdorf Memorial Award (TMU, 2019), Claudette Upton Scholarship (Editors Canada, 2020), and the Robert Weaver Award for Editorial Excellence (TMU, 2021)
- Member of Editors Canada, Victoria Festival of Authors, Anglican Editors Association, and Plain Language Association International (PLAIN)
- Able to edit in Microsoft Word using Track Changes, in Google docs, and in PDFs using Adobe Reader
- Experience using WordPress as a website content management system
- Experience editing to Canadian Press Stylebook and the Chicago Manual of Style
